Retazos de NECN (V)
Hércules y el cursillo de Lucila.
Muchos de nosotros pensábamos que era bueno hacer montajes con mayor número de actores, para fomentar la participación de más gente. En Otoño de 1993 nos vimos invadidos por una brisa fresca de la mano de muchos jóvenes que querían hacer teatro. Se montó una de las obras más multitudinarias, “Hércules y el establo de Augias”. La representación fue algo precipitada y tuvimos algunos problemas con la escenografía, pero lo pasamos muy bien. Personas como Emilio, Rafa, Miguel Angel Recio, Ricardo, tuvieron su primera oportunidad de participar en un montaje de “No es culpa nuestra”. Especialmente emotivo para todos nosotros fue ver reaparecer en escena a nuestro querido compañero Javi Velayos, viejo fundador de la asociación, a quien la vida le había deparado un año de sufrimiento que superó con valentía.
Aquel curso 1993/94 comenzó con fuerza, con nuestro primer cursillo de interpretación. Contratamos a Lucila Maiqueira, quien me dio mis primeras nociones teóricas de teatro y nos hizo experimentar nuevas sensaciones a un puñado de actores. De allí salió́ gente dispuesta a poner en práctica los nuevos conocimientos. Fue el despegue de mitos como Ricardo, Frauke, Rómulo, Miguelo, etc…
Los espectaculares montajes de “Samarkanda” y “Doce hombres sin piedad” no obtuvieron el premio que merecían en el festival, pero consiguieron cada uno una nominación a mejor montaje. El premio se fue para la obra “Caballito del Diablo”, del irregular grupo ISHTAR.
El local y el telón.
Llevábamos tres cursos compartiendo local con la Delegación de Alumnos. Era demasiado. Las quejas por el material que acumulábamos, por el uso de sus rotuladores y su papel para las sábanas y por las ruidosas reuniones que protagonizábamos en un “local serio” al fin dieron su fruto. La escuela, en plena remodelación durante el curso 1994/95, tenía un aula vacía. Se trataba del antiguo laboratorio de Televisión I, donde unos desvencijados televisores en color habían sufrido durante décadas la agresión de los aprendices de técnicos. Era una sala enorme, de más de veinte metros de largo. Allí creamos varios espacios de ensayo y fuimos felices durante todo el curso. Se ensayaron a tamaño natural (el espacio era inmenso) las escenas casi “coreográficas” de Los Justos y los momentos más intensos de “Entre Bastidores”. Recuerdo este montaje como una aventura especial. Se destaparon definitivamente los grandes actores Rafa Higuera y Fernando Samper (en su primera aparición consiguió́ el premio al mejor actor de reparto), y obtuvieron nominaciones a mejor actor Silvia, Begi y Javi Abellán.
Frauke irrumpió en la dirección de montajes con su personal y polémico estilo. La organización del festival de teatro estaba en manos de Javier Villán, crítico de teatro de El Mundo, a quien no convenció la particular visión de Frauke en “Los Justos”. El derroche de medios tampoco tuvo el premio apetecido. En el “Eco de Teleco” apareció una crítica demoledora. Sin embargo, a mí, me gustó mucho el montaje. Mi síndrome de Estocolmo se había agudizado. Por otra parte, las críticas del “Eco” no nos preocupaban mucho. El año anterior habían tratado a “Samarkanda” como si se tratase de una obra porno. En lo que todos estábamos de acuerdo (excepto la directora) era en que el logotipo seleccionado para los carteles y los trípticos era horroroso… Seguramente el cartel consiguió́ reducir la afluencia de público a la mitad.
No sin esfuerzo confeccionamos un enorme telón rojo que colocamos en el escenario para que el público no viera el decorado antes de comenzar la función. Fue maravilloso ver el aspecto imponente del telón iluminado por los focos antes del comienzo de la función de “Los Justos”.
El salón de actos también había sido remodelado. El escenario ahora era más grande, tras eliminar alguna fila de butacas, y ya no eran necesarias las ampliaciones, así́ que las pusimos a modo de escenario improvisado dentro del local.
Pero aquel gigantesco local estaba también destinado a la remodelación para el curso 95/96, así́ que nos asignaron otro, mucho más pequeño, donde antes había estado el Laboratorio de Electroacústica II. Es el actual local del grupo.
He visto con alegría que las viejas ampliaciones han vuelto a ser usadas en el actual local, donde se ha colocado un bonito y práctico escenario para escenificar los chous, matches y lo que le echen. Me alegro.
Cada año nos dedicábamos a nosotros mismos el espectáculo de San Teleko. Ese era el día de desparramar, del “más difícil todavía”. Los diálogos de Les Luthiers, Monty Python o los textos de Ricardo eran terreno muy visitado en los sketches, pero siempre guardábamos el bombazo para el final. Los dos más espectaculares fueron el show de las “Chachorras” y el strip-tease de “Full Monty”, completamente rompedores para la época.
Alrededor de 50 actores participaban en los innumerables sketches de San Teleko. Creo que fue en el 96… No teníamos suficiente espacio… Las Chachorras (para quien no lo sepa, un espectáculo de Drag Queens basado en la película “Tacones Lejanos”, de Almodóvar) necesitaban más para poder ordenar su vestuario. Alguien nos concedió un permiso especial para usar la capilla como improvisado camerino, siempre con el respeto debido a un lugar cuya utilización era religiosa… y ocurrió lo que era previsible. El capellán de la escuela irrumpió en la capilla en el preciso momento en que uno de los actores, cuyo nombre no diré, estaba colocándose la ropa interior y toda la capilla rebosaba de pelucas, uñas postizas y botas de grandes tacones… El cura montó en cólera y protestó a la dirección. Al año siguiente la escuela nos regaló la capilla como camerino definitivo, y los actos religiosos fueron trasladados a algún lugar de la primera planta. No hay mal que por bien no venga.
