Hoy queremos reproducir un artículo de José Antonio Jiménez que compartió para el dossier del X Aniversario. Pero como es muy largo lo publicaremos en varias entregas.

Retazos de una historia que sí es culpa nuestra.

“Papá” Guillermo lo había soñado muchas veces. Siendo delegado de alumnos de la escuela, lo comentaba con el que más tarde sería nuestro mecenas, Pedro Sánchez, un providencial subdirector de Extensión Universitaria… ¿Ingenieros y teatro? ¿Por qué no? Otras escuelas ya tenían un grupo de teatro, y no les iba mal. Ishtar, en Agrónomos, y La Cuarta Pared, en Industriales, estaban a la cabeza de un movimiento que tímidamente comenzaba a surgir en nuestra universidad.

Guillermo conocía a algunos de los dirigentes de esos grupos, y pensó́ que aquí́ también era posible.

Marichús, o la musa efímera.

Comenzaba el curso 1991/92 cuando entró en la escuela Marichús. Con una energía desbordante se apuntó a todo lo que pudo… fue delegada de curso e integrante del grupo de animadoras del equipo de rugbi, entre otras cosas, pero echó en falta algo fundamental…

En aquella época yo ya me arrastraba de asignatura en asignatura, sacando “cincopuntocero” en los exámenes que me iban bien, y “SS” en los otros (que eran mayoría). Para mí la escuela era un pozo en el que había caído por voluntad propia, y debía superar por orgullo, que no por ganas o interés. Tenía que sufrir unos años más pero aún quedaban posibilidades de salir convertido en ingeniero. Aunque no perdía la esperanza, nada me hacía sentirme integrado en una vida cultural inexistente. Probé́ suerte en el EURIELEC y en el cine-club ANTENA, sin engancharme, y me refugiaba en tertulias sobre teatro y filosofía con mis compañeros de colegio mayor.

San Teleko 91 no ofrecía para mí ningún atractivo. De hecho, ni siquiera fui a la escuela. Me limité a quedar con mi grupo de amigos en otro lugar. Uno de ellos, que conocía mi pasión por el teatro, me contó que había visto en un tablón de anuncios un cartel convocando una reunión en la Delegación de Alumnos. Se me iluminaron los ojos.

La delegación de alumnos estaba en el antiguo pasillo de los clubes, el único espacio a nuestra disposición en toda la escuela. Creo recordar que compartía local con la controvertida asociación Atlántida, aunque esto podría haber sido tergiversado por mi imaginación al cabo de los años. Era un pequeño local dividido en dos partes. Una pequeña recepción donde apenas había espacio para un becario que realizaba las tareas burocráticas y una especie de

trastienda, separada por una mampara de cristal, donde estaba la mesa de reuniones. Apenas cabían 10 personas alrededor de la mesa. Creo que éramos ocho los que allí nos dimos cita aquel soleado día de invierno. El becario de delegación no nos quitaba la oreja de encima. Más tarde resultó ser nuestro buen compañero Alvaro Martínez, ahora exiliado en el Silicon Valley. Los que circundábamos la mesa no teníamos ni idea de lo que íbamos a hacer, pero sabíamos que queríamos hacer algo.

Empezamos a hablar de teatro, y para mí comenzó una nueva vida en la escuela.

La convocatoria de la reunión había sido fraguada por Marichús. Ella participó en la primera versión de DIOS, en mayo de 1992, y después tomó la valiente decisión de abandonar la escuela. Prácticamente le perdimos el rastro. Años después oí hablar de una chica rubia llamada Marichús, que lideraba las asociaciones de estudiantes de la Facultad de Medicina de la Complutense.
